The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for nine Telangana districts and a thunderstorm alert for the remaining 24 districts for Saturday (May 24, 2025)
According to the latest IMD bulletin, heavy rain accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy.
In addition, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are forecast at isolated places in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Yadadri Bhongir, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal.
For Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, the IMD has forecast a generally cloudy sky over the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds, are very likely during this period.
